Technical parameters

Manual or automatic height adjustment of backstops. The R axis makes bending larger radii easier, e.g. using a step bending system.

To achieve a satisfactory step bending effect, certain calculations are required, based on several essential parameters of the bending process:

• Arc length – distance between the ends of the bent sheet curve measured along the inner side of the bend;
• Number of bends – the number of individual bends required to obtain the desired radius; the greater the number of bends, the smaller the single bend angle and the smoother the curve;
• Distance between bends – spacing between consecutive bends performed during the process.

Although step bending may seem complex, CORMAK machines and software are advanced enough to automate many operations, making the operator’s work easier and faster.
