For the step bending process to deliver satisfactory results, certain calculations must be made, requiring knowledge of key parameters related to the bending process, such as:
- Arc length – the distance between the ends of the bent section of the sheet measured on the inner side of the bend;
- Number of bends – the number of individual bends required to achieve a sheet with a specific radius; the greater the number of bends, the smaller the angle of each individual bend and the smoother the resulting curve;
- Distance between bends – the spacing between individual bends made during the process.
Although the step bending process may initially seem complex, CORMAK machines and software are so advanced that in many aspects they completely relieve the operator from manual calculations.

Servo-driven follow-up supports allow bending of large-format sheets which rise along with the bending moment, keeping the desired angle and preventing deformation.

SCO – Oil Cooling System
Included as standard — guarantees stable operating parameters even during prolonged, continuous operation.
Tool and Die Clamping:
- Standard divided multi-groove four-sided dies and segmented punches
- The standard CORMAK press brake system uses a manual AMADA (European) quick-change tool clamping system for fast and convenient tooling replacement.
- Punches are mounted from the side and locked with bolts.
Die and Punch Selection
The correct selection of dies and punches is crucial for achieving the desired bending result.
CORMAK press brakes perform live bending measurements and automatically compensate deviations during the process to ensure optimal results.

Depending on press force, segmented punches and dies may differ in length.
