For a satisfactory step bending result, it is necessary to perform specific calculations requiring knowledge of key parameters related to the bending process, such as:
- Arc length – the distance between the ends of the bent sheet’s curve, measured along the inner bending side;
- Number of bends – the number of single bends required to achieve a sheet with a given radius; the higher the number, the smaller the angle of each bend and the smoother the arc;
- Distance between bends – the distance between single bends performed during the process.
Although the step bending process may appear complex, CORMAK machines and software are so advanced that they take over many of the operator’s tasks, ensuring precision and efficiency.
