To achieve a satisfactory step bending result, certain calculations must be made, requiring knowledge of several key parameters of the bending process, such as:

      • Arc length – the distance between the ends of the bent sheet curve measured along the inner bend;
      • Number of bends – the number of individual bends required to obtain the desired radius; the higher the number, the smoother the curve;
      • Distance between bends – spacing between individual bends during the process.

Although step bending may seem complex, CORMAK machines and software are advanced enough to automate many aspects of the operator’s work.
