Automatic backgauge travel adjustment (X-axis) and R-axis adjustment (manual option*). The R-axis facilitates bending with larger radii, e.g. step bending systems.

For a satisfactory step bending result, it is necessary to perform certain calculations requiring knowledge of several key parameters related to the bending process – these are:
- Arc length – the distance between the ends of the bent curve of the sheet, measured on the inner side of the bend;
- Number of bends – the number of individual bends that must be made to achieve the required radius; the greater the number of bends, the smaller the angle of each bend, resulting in a smoother curve;
- Distance between bends – the distance between each bend made during the process.
Although the entire step bending process may seem complicated, CORMAK machines and software are advanced enough to automate most of the operator’s work.

Servo-driven follow-up sheet supports allow bending of large sheet dimensions, automatically tilting the sheet during bending to maintain the set angle and prevent deformation.
