Machine description
The universal METAL BANDSAW type CORMAK BS712A with CE certification is based on proven solutions that make it unrivalled in its class. It is characterised by high performance and ease of use. It enables cutting in the VERTICAL plane and perpendicular to the axis of the material being cut, or at any angle between 45° and 90°.
The workpiece can be fed manually or by any feeding device. The feed during cutting is performed by gravity, based on the oil flow in a dual-chamber hydraulic cylinder. The desired arm lowering speed is obtained thanks to a valve regulating the oil flow between the cylinder chambers.
The desired linear speed of the blade is achieved by changing the ratio on the pulleys between the worm gearbox and the drive motor.
The massive, stable, and well-designed structure, together with the arm made of a single cast-iron piece, ensures very high rigidity and stability during cutting, resulting in cutting precision and long, failure-free operation. The design and the use of a 20mm wide cutting blade enable the performance of multiple serial cuts of both profiles and solid parts.

Machine construction
The bandsaw drive system consists of two cast-iron wheels. The first is the tensioning wheel (adjusted by a lever), and the second is the drive wheel. Torque is transmitted directly to the drive wheel from the worm gearbox, which is powered by an electric motor. The proper blade inclination angle is ensured by a system of bearing rollers.
The base of the machine is a rigid rectangular structure made of steel plates, inside which there is a coolant tank with a coolant pump. Thanks to the swivel vice, material can be cut at an angle of 0–45 degrees.
The upper part of the base houses a tray for draining coolant and a chip container for debris generated during the cutting process. On the tray is mounted a cast-iron worktable that holds the material vice and to which the saw arm is attached.
In the lower part of the machine pedestal, there are holes for the wheel axles. Safety during cutting is ensured by an electrical installation meeting all CE requirements. The machine is equipped with a limit switch stopping the saw after cutting, an emergency stop button (“safety mushroom”), and several microswitches that shut off the machine if, for example, the belt drive or saw blade cover is opened. Additionally, this model, unlike competing designs, is equipped with a wire brush that cleans the cutting blade from chips—preventing clogging of the blade and improving cutting efficiency.
