Machine description:

The horizontal CORMAK HBS210 VARIO metal bandsaw with a pivoting arm enables cutting in a plane perpendicular to the axis of the material being cut and at any angle from 0° to 60°. Power from the electric motor to the drive wheel of the cutting blade is transmitted through a mechanical gearbox (not belt-driven). The cutting blade is tensioned on two cast-iron wheels using a manual tensioner and guided by a set of bearing rollers.

The material to be cut can be fed manually or by any mechanical feeding device, while the tool feed operates gravitationally, based on oil flow in a double-chamber hydraulic cylinder. The appropriate arm lowering speed is achieved by a valve regulating the oil flow between the chambers. The blade guides are fitted with a set of bearing rollers, which significantly affect blade guidance, service life, straightness, accuracy and cutting quality.

The correct cutting speed (blade feed rate) is adjusted by changing the control knob position on the control panel. The cutting speed should be selected according to the type and grade of material. The rigid arm is made of profiled cast iron. The control panel is mounted on the arm.

The base is built as a rigid welded steel sheet frame. Inside, there is a separate coolant tank with an electric pump. The upper part of the base is shaped as a tray for draining coolant and collecting chips formed during the cutting process. The base is fitted with a cast-iron worktable with a pivoting arm and a control panel mounted on a separate arm. In the cutting process, the main cutting movement is the motion of the blade, while the feed is achieved by lowering the arm. The arm lowering speed (cutting speed) is regulated by a hydraulic cylinder.

The feed rate is adjusted on the bandsaw control panel. Smooth cutting speed adjustment within the range of 0–90 m/min. When the arm reaches its lower position (after cutting the material), the drive to the cutting blade is automatically switched off. Safety is ensured by the blade guards and micro-switches that stop the motor after the cutting cycle or when any guard is opened. Additional protection includes automatic shutdown of the bandsaw in case of blade breakage.
