Machine characteristics

The CORMAK HBS275 horizontal metal bandsaw with a pivoting arm enables cutting perpendicular to the material axis and at any angle between 0° and 60°. The material can be fed manually or by any mechanical device, while the feed operates automatically. The blade guides are equipped with special carbide plates and bearings, significantly improving blade guidance, durability, straightness, accuracy and cutting quality. The carbide guiding system greatly reduces machine and blade wear. The machine is fitted with an efficient coolant pump with a closed circulation system.

The saw arm is made from a single cast-iron element. Together with the 27 mm wide cutting blade, it allows series cutting of both profiles and solid materials. The vice is mounted on an adjustable base and features a quick-clamping system. The blade guides are fitted with hard metal (carbide) plates and bearing rollers. These carbide guides ensure cutting accuracy and straightness.

The arm is equipped with an automatic blade tension sensor and tilted at 25°, which increases blade life. A cleaning brush is installed underneath the arm to keep the blade clean and efficient. The machine drive is transmitted via a worm gear. The unit features a three-phase motor with two cutting speeds and a thermal motor protection system. The saw also includes a DIAL GAUGE TENSOMETER for blade tension control and an automatic shut-off in case of blade breakage.

The upper part of the base forms a tray for draining coolant and collecting chips produced during the cutting process. The base is fitted with a cast-iron worktable with a pivoting arm and a control panel mounted on a separate arm. In operation, the main cutting motion is the movement of the blade, while the feed is achieved by lowering the arm. The lowering speed (cutting speed) is controlled by a hydraulic cylinder.

The feed rate is adjusted on the control panel. Two blade speeds are available: 37.5 and 75 m/min. When the arm reaches its lower position (after cutting), the drive is automatically switched off. Safety is ensured by blade guards and micro-switches that stop the motor after the cutting cycle or when any guard is opened. Additional protection includes automatic shutdown of the machine in case of blade breakage.
