Semi-Automatic Metal Band Saw CORMAK BS370H

CORMAK BS370H is a robust semi-automatic band saw designed for precise cutting of pipes, profiles and solid materials.

The new version has been equipped with an upper clamp for bundle cutting and continuous blade speed control via an inverter in the range of 20–90m/min. These solutions increase the machine’s capabilities and make it easier to adjust working parameters to the type of material being processed.

Upper clamp for bundle cutting

The clamp stabilises elements arranged in layers and limits their movement during operation. It allows more efficient cutting of bundles of profiles, pipes and other repeatable elements.

Inverter 20–90m/min

Continuous blade speed control allows precise adjustment of cutting parameters to the section, thickness and type of material – without being limited to a few fixed speeds.

Main advantages

  • Upper material clamp – stable and efficient bundle cutting.
  • Continuous speed control 20–90m/min – blade speed selection via inverter.
  • Semi-automatic operation – hydraulic material clamping, lowering and raising of the saw arm.
  • Mitre cutting from -45° to +60° – a wide range of applications.
  • Hydraulically controlled vice – quick and repeatable material clamping.
  • Stepless saw arm downfeed adjustment – greater control over the cutting process.
  • Guides with carbide inserts and bearings – accurate blade guidance.
  • Cooling system with closed circuit – cooling of the cutting zone and heat dissipation.
  • Blade tension sensor – convenient control of correct blade tension.
  • Automatic stop after blade breakage – additional machine protection.

Efficient bundle cutting

The applied upper clamp makes it possible to stabilise several elements arranged one on top of another. This is particularly useful during serial cutting of profiles, pipes and other materials with repeatable dimensions.

The material is held both by the vice and from above, which limits the movement and lifting of individual elements in the bundle during blade passage.

Continuous blade speed control

The blade speed can be adjusted continuously in the range of from 20 to 90m/min. The inverter makes it possible to adapt operating parameters to the type of material, its section and the nature of the cut being made.

The operator is not limited to two factory-set speeds. The blade movement can be matched more precisely, among others, to cutting thin-walled profiles, pipes, sections and solid materials.

Semi-automatic working cycle

After positioning the material and starting the cycle, the machine automatically performs the successive stages of cutting:

  1. the hydraulic vice clamps the material,
  2. the saw arm lowers at the set speed,
  3. the blade performs the cut,
  4. the limit switch detects the end of the cycle,
  5. the arm is hydraulically raised to the starting position.

The operator focuses mainly on positioning and feeding the material, while the main cutting cycle proceeds in a controlled and repeatable manner.

Precise blade guidance

The blade guides use sintered carbide inserts and bearings. This solution ensures stable blade guidance and helps maintain straight cutting.

The rigid arm and body made of ductile cast iron reduce the structure’s susceptibility to twisting, which is important when cutting larger sections and solid materials.

Straight and mitre cutting

The swivelling arm enables cuts to be made in the range of from -45° to +60°. The material can remain in one position, while the operator sets the appropriate angle of the saw arm.

Maximum cutting diameter at 90° Ø270 mm
Maximum square section at 90° 220 × 220 mm
Maximum rectangular section at 90° 370 × 220 mm

Stable construction and cooling system

Blade drive is transmitted via a worm gear. The cast iron worktable and massive base provide stable support for the machine during operation.

The upper part of the base forms a tray collecting coolant and chips generated during cutting. The efficient pump operates in a closed circuit, directing coolant directly to the machining zone.
