The CORMAK 660 x 2000 universal lathe is a heavy-duty industrial conventional lathe designed for precision metal machining in production plants, toolrooms and maintenance workshops. The construction, based on a massive hardened bed and powerful 7.5kW spindle drive, ensures high working stability, dimensional repeatability and a long machine service life even under intensive operation.

Construction and technology

The lathe body is made from high-grade cast iron, which provides a high net weight (approx. 3,190 kg) and effective vibration damping. The headstock is fitted with a reinforced bearing system, ensuring stable operation across the full speed range from 25 to 1,500 rpm. The central feed switching system, lead screw and feed shaft enable precise threading as well as automatic longitudinal and cross feed.

The spindle gearbox, based on hardened and ground gears, ensures long-term, trouble-free operation. The ergonomic control panel allows quick adjustment of operating parameters without interrupting the machining process.

Precision and working efficiency

The CORMAK 660 x 2000 metal lathe has been designed for accurate and repeatable machining of workpieces up to 2,000 mm long. The rapid feed system significantly shortens cycle time, while the removable gap in the bed enables turning of components up to 885 mm in diameter. The thread dial allows the carriage to return quickly without losing synchronisation, which is crucial when producing precision threads.

Application

This universal lathe is used in single-piece and small-batch production, toolrooms, mechanical workshops, repair plants and maintenance departments. It is suitable wherever a robust conventional lathe is required for intensive machining of steel, cast iron and non-ferrous metals.
