Machine Description:
RM series machines are designed for standard sheet metal bending to produce cylindrical forms, without pre-bending (as standard). The sheet is clamped between the central drive rollers. The upper roller is fixed, while the lower roller moves vertically to adjust for the required sheet thickness. The required bending radius is obtained by shifting the side roller.
Sheet metal bending is an important working function that determines the quality of the final component and consists of bending the sheet edges (pre-bending), allowing for a uniform, closed shell. To bend in both directions, the sheet must be repositioned, and the side roller pressed twice.
The asymmetric roller arrangement enables pre-bending by adjusting the side roller. Optionally, an electric drive can be mounted on the side roller to allow pre-bending.
As standard, the RM series rollers can achieve a minimum diameter equal to three times the upper roller diameter, when bending metal with a cold yield strength of 260 N/mm2 and bending strength of 24 kg/mm2.
The upper roller is foldable, which facilitates the removal of finished products. The foldable roller is equipped with a lock preventing accidental opening during operation.
