The bi-metal band saw is made of M42 high-speed steel refined with 8% cobalt, connected by an electron beam to a German spring steel carrier band.
Bimetallic saws, unlike monolithic saws, are made of two types of steel. The carrier tape, made of highly flexible, crack-resistant spring steel, is connected by an electron beam to abrasion-resistant top-quality M42 high-speed steel. This allows for a significant increase in efficiency and, consequently, reduction in labor costs.
