Automatic adjustment of the rear stops (X axis) and R axis (manual option available). The R axis facilitates bending larger radii, e.g., with a step system.

To ensure satisfactory results from the step bending process, it is necessary to perform certain calculations, which require knowledge of several key parameters related to the bending process – these are:

      • Arc length – the distance between the ends of the bent part of the sheet metal measured along the inner side of the bend;
      • Number of bends – the number of individual bends that must be performed to achieve a bent sheet with a specified radius; the larger the number of bends, the smaller the angle of each bend, resulting in a smoother arc;
      • Distance between bends – the distance between individual bends made during the process.

Although the entire step bending process may seem quite complicated, the machines and software available at CORMAK are advanced enough to fully assist the operator in many aspects.

Follow-up Supports

Follow-up supports on servomotors enable bending of larger sheets, which, along with the bending moment, raise the sheet at an angle, so that the bent arc does not deform and maintains the set angle.

Stamp and Matrix Mounting:

  • Standard divided multi-groove four-sided matrices and divided stamps
  • The basic system used in CORMAK bending presses is a manual AMADA type (European) system, allowing for quick tool changes
  • Stamps are mounted from the side of the machine and locked with screws

Selection of Matrix and Stamp

Due to the final effect, it is also important to choose the right tools for the bending press, i.e., the matrix and stamp.
CORMAK bending presses continuously measure bending and can, for example, correct deviations during the process to achieve the most optimal result.


Depending on the press's pressing force, divided stamps and matrices may differ in length.
